I am currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.   I received my Ph.D. in political science from the Department of Political Science at the University of Iowa in 2015.  My research interests are in American politics, methodology, and formal theory.  Primarily, I focus on the U.S. Congress and state legislatures.  In particular, my dissertation examines the interdependence that exists in legislative behavior through the use of spatial econometrics.

Also on this page you can find an update on my most recent work and awards. For further details on my dissertation work, along with my other work on spatial econometrics and state politics you can look at my research page.  The teaching tab highlights the classes that I have instructed and a summary of my teaching evaluations.  Additionally, you can download my CV here.
